  • Abstract
MPLS networks use label technique for data transmission, so the way of fault detection and restoration in MPLS networks are different from the way in traditional IP networks. An existing scheme called Haskin scheme applies a mechanism to send data reversely, which brings in heavy delay and makes packets out of order; The FRR scheme is implemented with RSVP TE protocol, it has ability to detect and repair faults among the network rapidly, but this method need too many backup paths and waste network resources. This article proposes a solution to combine the two schemes together--NHF scheme. NHF scheme divide the network into parts, and take different solutions to protect the LSRs in the working path. The simulation results show that NHF scheme has lower delay than Haskin scheme and higher bandwidth utilization rate.
