Abstract
The paper analyses multitemporal E-SAR images (7 dates between May 20 and July 30, 1992) in X-, C- and L-band. Correlations between plant height and mean backscatter values are presented. C-band temporal backscatter profiles illustrate distinctive variations over time. The curves indicate the possibility for crop monitoring and preferred times during the growing season for crop classification. Classification results are presented, comparing multifrequency and multitemporal approaches. The image classifications are evaluated using a co-occurrence matrix based on a digitized landuse map
