Abstract
The main trends in the development of mobile space communication in Russia are reflected in the article. The basic performance characteristics of the Russian satellites being developed and the organization of mobile space communication in Russia are examined. Taking into account the geographical position of the country it is necessary to use geostationary, high-elliptical and low Earth orbits for creating the mobile satellite service
