Abstract :
The problem of sharing compressed files in different systems in a network is discussed. A project based on FTP is put forward to solve the problem. A concrete designing as a supplementation to FTP is provided after analyzing FTP defined in RFC 959. At the end of this paper, a newly constructed FTP server not only inherits the current functions of the FTP server and Inetd server without any changes, but also offers some new required functions
