  • Abstract
    An image detection system based on DSP is designed for the length of vehicle queue at crossroad. The whole hardware structure of the system is described firstly, and the circuitry to process image by DSP is detailed. Also, the main program of the image detection system and the multi-threshold extraction method for the vehicle queue length are presented in the paper. By applying the system to the urban traffic signal controller, it shows that the system is better than the old ones with inductance coils on precision, stableness and maintenance.
