Abstract :
In this paper, we look into the colour transformation algorithm, which focuses on the red-green colour vision deficient individuals. Red-green colour deficiency is the most common category of color blindness that causes red and green to be seen as beige color. Two main colour transformation algorithms namely the Daltonize and RGB-HSV algorithm are used to compare to see the different. These algorithms were compared based on several criteria such as the ease of use, the quality of the images, the accuracy of the images, the transformation speed and its efficiency. The colour transformation algorithm is then tested on a group of 12 people who have colour vision deficiency via a designed questionnaire handed out to them. Majority says satisfactory responses to the Daltonize algorithm. The transformed images look clearer to them. They are able to recognize and differentiate the colours of two unrelated areas that their eyes fail to detect accurately.
