Abstract
High data-rate wireless local-area-networks (WLAN) must operate in multipath environments such as inside office buildings and factories. Thus it is important that these WLAN´s communicate using codes that perform well in these harsh conditions. This paper presents a new performance measure that quantifies the distance between codes in a multipath environment. This new measure indicates that complementary codes should perform well. We then propose a specific set of complementary codes known as complementary code keying (CCK) and show through the new distance measure and simulation that CCK codes do perform well in a multipath environment
