Abstract
Applying ubiquitous computing technologies to the online exposition applications is a reasonable idea. However, unlike the existing media-centred Ubi-media services, the content architectures of online exposition services are obviously exhibit-centred. It´s necessary to study the content description and multimedia presentation for online exposition applications. We present E-Show as a Ubi-media framework for online exposition applications. It aims at the exhibit-centred description model of exposition content and the scalable multimedia presentation on the various hardware devices. The ontology for online exposition applications is advanced to de scribe the semantic and multimedia content of exhibits. Also an XML-based language is presented to control the scalable multimedia presentation on pervasive devices. Based on these works, a multi-tiers framework is given and its detail functions are discussed. E-Show provides a solution to represent, organise and distribute the semantic and audiovisual content of online exposition applications, while maintaining compatibility with the international multimedia standards.
