Abstract
Online garment shopping and retailing has attracted more and more customers and traditional companies from apparel industry in recent five years. The major challenge of online garment shopping is the way of demonstrating the apparel products and the way of evaluating the fit/ease information since the garment cannot be physically tried on. In this paper, we present the solutions of 3D online garment demonstration according to image sewing and draping, and the method of fit/ease extraction from volume slicing on the 3D avatar. Physically-based fabric modeling and Shape from Shading (SFS) are employed as the foundation of the aforementioned solutions. Experimental results and visual effects validate the efficiency of our proposed methods when applied to 3D online garment demonstration.
