Abstract :
The effects of alternative life cycle strategies of end of life electrical home appliances (EL-EHA) on the emission of CO2, landfill volume, and the level of employment are evaluated by the waste input-output model. An extension of product life with functional upgradability is found effective in reducing the environmental effects without having a negative impact on employment.
