  • Abstract
This paper establishes a framework of Multi-Agent System (MAS)-based collaborative assistant design system which is applied to the Machining Center (MC), provides an expanded Object-Oriented Knowledge Representation (OOKR) for the cases storage, presents an effective reasoning algorithm for the chosen of appreciate production type according to the customization, and illustrates a prototype case study to show the practicability of this system. Using this platform, a product model which has the greatest similarity with the customer order information can be proposed by encapsulated CBR intelligent searching strategy as quickly as possible. It can provide a stabile foundation for shorten the design cycle of new product development and improve a company´s competitive ability in the dog-eat-dog market.
