Abstract
FAS methodology is being developed based on different methodologies for the analysis of the relations between systems, to reach a modular design, product platform and product architecture. The base point of the FAS is a relation matrix (DSM), where different components and subsystems are involved. Through matrix algorithms, the optimal result in the selection of systems that can and must be designed from the modular design concept for platforms or products architectures, analyzing the relations between each of the individuals. Besides the use of the different developed methodologies for several authors, FAS analysis introduces a 3D representation based on the relations obtained from DSM development. This structure allows the use of different values, according to the types of relations analyzed and that are defined farther on.
