Abstract :
The effects of dispersion fluctuations and fourth-order dispersion on the gain of fiber optical parametric amplifier (FOPA) are studied by numerical simulation based on the coupled equations. The results show that under certain conditions, the increasing zero-dispersion wavelength can improve the gain characteristics of FOPA. The effects of fourth-order dispersion on the gain are very small when the zero-dispersion wavelength is changing.
