Abstract
Radio-LANs provide a good example of information technology products meeting the current demand for flexibility and mobility in the office environment. It is uncertain, however, what scope they offer and what their restrictions are. We present a performance study of two commercially available radio-LANs: Motorola Altair and NCR WaveLAN. A selection of the results is presented. Using the results of the study opportunities of radio-LANs can be determined and specific application areas can be assessed for which the features of radio-LANs appear to have full advantage
