Abstract :
Icing on overhead power transmission line is a serious problem that affects the secure operation of power system. This paper firstly analyses transmission line icing damage and the advantage & disadvantage of various current online monitoring techniques. Then, the implementation scheme of a novel method, which based on the sensor network of fiber optic sensor, is introduced. Through measuring the stress of the transmission line, the ice cover can be obtained. In order to prove the correct of this method, a emulation experiment, which compares the calculation result of the ANSYS software with the method brought out in this paper, is presented in detail. The ice cover calculation is proposed and achieved by monitoring the stress of transmission line, and verified by ANSYS FEM software.
