Abstract :
This paper deals with the prediction of no-load magnetic field distribution, armature field distribution, flux linkage, and back electromotive force for disk type permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM). The open-circuit field distribution is predicted using a two-dimensional (2-D) analytical solution derived in terms of magnetic vector potential. The slotting and skew effect is considered using the relative permeance function. The results are validated extensively by finite element (FE) analyses and experiment results.
