Abstract :
In order to improve the current precision of machining, a hydraulic micro-feed actuator for precision turning used in lathe or conventional CNC turning centers is introduced and the design formulas of important structure are given. The characteristics of the actuator such as displacement, natural frequency, cutting are researched by using the finite element analysis and experimental methods. The results show this micro-actuator have linear and precise displacement, high-stiffness, stable cutting performance, etc. it can remarkably improve the feed precision of the conventional lathe and meet the requirement of precision machining.
