Abstract :
The main circuit of UHVDC transmission system in China is introduced. Based on the ABB HVDC control protection system, the principle and method of the interface technology between the PSCAD/EMTDC and HIDRAW are introduced. An off-line real-time simulation system using PSCAD/EMTDC is built for UHVDC transmission system which is used for protection testing. With a practical project, various of the protection purpose, principle and criterion for the bipoler zone are analyzed in detail. Through simulations on different faults for bipoler zone, different protections of the model are verified and the setting values of the different protections are tested.
