Abstract :
An example of how an analog dc-dc converter combined with a "digital front end" allows user programmability of various parameters. This paper is looks at how the inclusion of a "digital front end" on an analog controller can allow for a degree of flexibility or programmability that eliminates the repetitive process of physically changing components on a PC Motherboard. Specifically this paper is going to look at current phase balance in a multiphase dc-dc converter as one such example of a function that would have been "tuned" using resistors in the past and how the inclusion of a digital interface simplifies the tuning process.
