Abstract :
In this paper an approach to design a compact substrate integrated resonator is presented. Multilayer LCP substrate integrated waveguide is loaded with a quasi-ridged structure. Component is designed with a resonant frequency of 28 GHz. Proposed structure is 4.5 times more compact by square than its conventional substrate integrated counterpart and 1.7 times than resonator designed using EBG-substrate. Chebyshev filter with proposed resonator is designed; its layout and characteristics are presented.
