  • Abstract
Power and energy supply has been faced with many challenges in the 21st century, accordingly the future development and innovation of power technologies is urgently needed. As a result of environmental pressures and energy shortage, human society needs to be powered by low-carbon or distributed sustainable energy, thus a conceptual smart grid with an originally created structure is brought forward which is friendly to the low-carbon generator and the customers. Furthermore, the conception, the physical infrastructure and the operation mechanism of the novel grid are elaborated in the paper. Then technology path for the promising structure is proposed. Finally it reaches a conclusion that the development of such smart grid would be a perfect solution for the integration of low-carbon energy as well as sustainable development. This grid should be viewed and carried out as a national energy strategy.
