Abstract
The study of unsaturated slope stability is one of issues in Geotechnical Engineering. The stability of the unsaturated soil slope in the land sliding of the middle section of the Jiulongjiang River is analyzed and evaluated on the basis of the improved Sarma´s method which can be used for stability analysis of unsaturated soil slopes. Research results show that the slope has a visible whole sliding tendency and that the unsaturated soil slope tends to whole sliding after the matric suction is lost. At the same time, two sliding cracks in front of the slope are validated to be swelling ones, which indicates that the landslide is a type of thrust load caused landslide.
