Abstract :
Preservation of traditional Chinese paintings effectively has become an urgent task and multispectral technology is adopted as a good solution. In this paper, the technological frame of multispectral color reproduction based on aging characteristics of traditional Chinese paintings is depicted. Pigment matching is one of the key steps during the reproduction, because of this, a method for fulfilling pigment matching based on traditional Chinese paintings´ aging characteristics and Kubelka-Munk theory is proposed subsequently. As a bonus, this method is also applicable when a gallery can´t afford to display a costly traditional Chinese painting or when the painting is too weak to be moved for exhibition.
