Abstract :
An adaptive multi-criteria handoff algorithm incorporating signal strength and mobile position location as input parameters is proposed in this work. “Multi-valued logic” or “Poli-valued logic” is used to generate a multi-valued rule base to handle input parameters. The proposed algorithm is evaluated in two different scenarios. It is shown that this handoff algorithm allows a considerable reduction in dropped call probability and ping pong effect, increasing the quality of service for the subscriber
