Abstract
In general synchronous machines are designed and manufactured in cylindrical shapes structure. Winding overhangs because of this structure decreases the efficiency and make the machines to bulky unnecessarily. In this paper, the spherical type motor without winding overhang is suggested. This is expected to reduce leakage flux, the loss and increase the output power. The validity of proposed structure will be shown in the computer simulation of the permanent magnet excited 3-phase dc motor.
