Abstract :
The authors describe the design concepts, functions and architecture of a personal multimedia teleconferencing terminal that realizes face-to-facelike communications over a narrowband ISDN (integrated services digital network) by integrating voice, video, high-resolution bilevel graphics, full-color still pictures, handwritten images, and handwritten pointers. It is confirmed that this terminal provides user-friendly teleconferencing close to that achieved in face-to-face communications
