Abstract
An algorithm for sequentially estimating object boundaries in noise corrupted black and white images is briefly discussed. The value of introducing adaptation into the algorithms is demonstrated both analytically and experimentally. Indirect adaptive algorithms are introduced which involve identification of key model parameters. Finally performance of the adaptive and non-adaptive algorithms is compared.
