Abstract :
This paper has described the development and testing of AHFA (alarm handling and fault analysis), a real-time fault diagnosis expert system. AHFA has made a good start and proved to be extensible to cope with nontrivial types of fault and other situations. AHFA is viewed as a possible component of a proposed higher-level monitoring system for national control, possibly integrated with a shared real-time object-oriented database
