Abstract
The phase transition between two ferroelectric phases F R(LH) and F R(HT) gives high pyroelectric coefficient but only in a very narrow temperature range. The study was carried out in order to extend the phase transition temperature of composite ceramics through a mixed sintering method. Two kinds of starting materials with Zr/Ti ratios of 90/10 and 94/6, respectively, were prepared to broaden the phase transition temperature. Two phase transition temperatures for F R(LH) to F R(HT), which give double peaks in the temperature dependence of the pyroelectric coefficient were observed. A mixed sintered PbZrO3-PbTiO3-Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3 )O3 (PZT-PZN) ternary system ceramic with Pb5Ge3O11 (PGO) as a liquid phase was also studied, and the pyroelectric properties were investigated
