Abstract
An ultraviolet curable binder system with rheology suitable for tape casting has been developed. High volume loadings of ceramic powder were mixed with this binder, tape cast, and selectively exposed to ultraviolet radiation. Exposed areas polymerized, creating a patterned green tape. The ceramic powders used were PMN-7.5 PT and a BaTiO3 -based high K capacitor formulation. Parameters studied included binder burnout characteristics, slip rheology, curing times, cured thicknesses. green densities, flexibility of the cured tape, powder dispersion in the green tape, and patterning capabilities
