Abstract
Real-time dynamic security assessment is an important function to be implemented in energy management systems. In order to apply the most proper corrective actions it is necessary, in real time simulations, to distinguish a transient instability from voltage instability. In this paper, we propose three tests to detect transient voltage instabilities. The paper also reports numerical results on the IEEE 118 bus system
