Abstract :
New tools and support equipment will be required to support the next generation of surveillance infrastructure. The technology used in the existing legacy surveillance system is several generations old, and the tools utilized to monitor and maintain it are inadequate for the next generation network infrastructure. The critical nature of surveillance data requires a rigorous testing and validation process. New tools will be required to perform system certification, training, support, and validation. These tools will be required to provide system loading, error injection, introducing delays, and to test system redundancy and resiliency to errors. New tools will be required to support, development, subsystem validation, and traffic generation during system testing. Moreover, these tools will continue to be used long after the system is fielded to support regression testing, certification, and maintenance.
