Abstract :
This paper presents a experiment of 3 different kinds of shading performance and thermal reduction of plant-covered windows. Two types of experimental rooms are chosen, all the conditions are the same, and one placed plants (Sedum lineare) beside (inside and outside) the window, the other one is the contractive room The experimental data shows that the plants can reduce 3~8°C at most, the effect of thermal reduction is very significant. However, if the plants are put inside the room, the air humidity will raise up, so we should consider ventilation to reduce the air humidity to get the most comfortable indoor air environment.
