Abstract
The control of a pyrolysis process producing bio-oil, gas and char starting from vegetable biomasses is considered. The highly nonlinear model and the configuration of input variables is faced by maximizing the economic profit. The control procedures are designed so that the burden of the farm management is minimized. The cost reduction is essential in order to make possible the use of pyrolysis process on the countryside.
