  • Abstract
For the collected barcode image, an image processing method with the ability of locating, segmenting, correcting and recognizing the Chinese-sensible code is introduced. In order to meet the real-time demands and obtain the optimal thresholding under various lighting conditions, we proposed the improved adaptive thresholding algorithm, which is proved both high efficiency and high stability. The ratios of each module in the finder pattern are used to obtain the functional information and determine the structure of barcode. For the distorted barcode images, the relative locations of finder patterns, alignment patterns and auxiliary alignment patterns are taken advantage of to divide the barcode image into several sub-regions. And then, the affine transformation is employed to correct sub-regions into normal. The results showed that this method can correct the distortion of symbols effectively.
