  • Abstract
This paper deals with the modeling and analysis of a doubly-fed reluctance machine using the concept of the q-d harmonic balance to determine voltage equations while the electromagnetic torque and the contributions of the control and power windings to the mechanical output power are determined using the Manley-Rowe power-frequency relationships. The resulting model, including saturation effects and core losses is used to unveil the inherent oscillatory instability of the machine and to predict the steady-state performance in the motoring and generator modes. Extensive experimental results are used to confirm calculation results
