Abstract
Green space for environmental quality has been emphasized in urbanized area as the global trend of Eco-city. However, green space in developed urban areas is always fragmentary because dense land uses and transportation constructions indeed cause numerous landscape and environmental problems. This study aimed at assessing the spatial structure of green space in Taipei City, a typical developed urban area of the Chinese society, by using of the landscape structure indices. Based on the assessment results, the problems and strategies of greenway network development for Taipei were recommended. The assessment process and developed strategies could contribute to the other Chinese urbanized areas and provide essential basis for future greenway network development.
