Abstract :
Abstract-Congestion control is the key scheme to guarantee Quality of Services (QoS) in Next-Generation-Networks (NGN). A new congestion control algorithm based on flow-awareness for NGN is presented, it can identify different flows congruously in path, and the buffer was adjust dynamically to different flows, the dropping probability was determined by the type and the rate of flows. It can keep streaming flows share bandwidth fairly with elastic flow under light load, and guarantee the priority of real-time applications under heavy load. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better network performance in fairness, congestion ratio and link utilization.
