Abstract :
Recently Yang et al present an exact filtered back- projection reconstruction algorithm with some weak requirements on trajectory. Inspired by their work, in this paper we propose a novel class of scanning trajectories for cone- beam CT. The trajectories are characteristic of circular and closed shape and it will be illustrated that they satisfy the requirement of Yang et al´s algorithm. Error analysis shows this novel class of trajectories can reduce discretization error for Region of Interest (ROI) reconstruction by nonuniform sampling and they also adapt well to various ROI with different locations and shapes.
