Abstract :
The author defines service completion time (SCT), a measure parallel to the POTS (plain old telephone system) call-setup time. SCT will be used to evaluate AIN (advance intelligent network) services. This proposed SCT model takes into account new characteristics and new call patterns introduced by AIN services and can be used to analyze these services from both the user´s and the network´s perspective. How components of SCT can be allocated to network elements is illustrated
