Abstract :
Initial models of lunar transmission lines have provided insight into the effects of various design parameters on size, mass and operating temperatures. Most likely, high-power lines transmitting over a few km will use moderately high voltages (1-10 kV). The insulation of such voltages in the lunar environment will be a significant challenge, requiring new insulation designs. Both solid-dielectric and vacuum insulation have been considered
