Abstract :
Several proposed applications of advanced instrumentation and control techniques to nuclear power plant systems are described and evaluated. Included are studies in plant control, plant estimation, plant protection and diagnosis, and instrument failure detection. Regulatory considerations for potential commercial implementation of these new techniques are addressed.
