  • Abstract
Study on building materials made by mine tailings could contribute to solving problems of environmental protection from exploiting minerals, as well as those of excessive consumption of land resources from producing building materials. In view of ingredients and technologic property of mine tailings in Tongling region, mine tailings in the region apply to exploiting such products as bricks by steaming and pressing, cement, glass, building ceramics, etc. Studying on building materials made by mine tailings, most of organizations carry out experimental study for exploitation aiming at specific mine, and few of basic research are conducted. In addition, inter-disciplinary researchers and research funds were both of shortage. In the light of study trends, study on building materials should focus on physical and chemical properties of interrelated silicates, technologic property and technical principle. Furthermore, greater effort must be exerted in support of policy and funds.
