Abstract :
Describes a method to recognize hand gestures from a monocular image in real time. We use colored gloves to detect specific region of the hand quickly. By using this method, we can treat easily the occlusion problem due to color information. Hand gestures are quickly recognized by the decision tree made from the image features automatically by our proposed method. There are other pattern recognition methods using image features like the nearest-neighbor method. But it is better for computation time to use the decision tree because the decision tree uses only a few selected important features
