Abstract :
Presents a least-squares (LS) approach to globally interpreting the optical flow field. Using the derivatives of the optical flow field, one can obtain a linear and global constraint equation for the translation motion. Thus the translation motion can be robustly and simply recovered using a LS method. Once the translation motion is recovered, the rotation can be immediately recovered only using the optical flow field. Therefore, the recovered rotation motion is more reliable
