Abstract
Surface electromagnetic waves (SEW) and evanescent waves (EW), are widely used for the study of surface characteristics. They are often used for sensor development. In this paper, we consider possible application of this technique in the experiments on the Novosibirsk free electron laser. At the first user stations we are planning investigation of SEW transmission and development of methods for identification of chemical and biological objects in dry and wet states, as well as in solutions.
