Abstract :
In this paper, detail preserving morphological filtering operations are presented. These operations generalize so called soft morphological operations which have been shown to preserve details well. The results show that the filtering operations introduced preserve details better than standard morphological filters and, at the same time, are less sensitive to noise. Also, a new class of idempotent morphological filters is constructed
