Abstract :
This paper presents a new approach to the tension control of aluminum tandem hot mills. The emphasis of this paper is on the application of the synthesis method based on a disturbance observer to an actual plant. Results show that the new system is very applicable for a large variety of small quantity production runs and is easy to tune during actual implementation
