Abstract
A central problem in economics is the characterization of efficient programs of resource allocation by a price system and the use of a price mechanism to attain such an allocation in economics where decision making is decentralized. The purpose of this note is to examine those notions in the context of a double infinity economy (continuum of agents, infinite dimensional commodity space), using techniques of nonsmooth analysis.
