Abstract
In this work, we illustrate our first experiences on activities about monitoring of the User Quality of Services (QoS). We show the network architecture that has been implemented to achieve QoS tests feasible by all Italian consumers. Such an infrastructure permits to achieve a detailed investigation on the network causes that induce performance degradation and, therefore, it can be assumed as a basis for networks´ behaviour investigation. This work is developed within Ne.Me.Sys Project framework. Ne.Me.Sys is an open source software commissioned by AGCOM (Italian Communications Regulatory Authority) and developed by Fondazione Ugo Bordoni in order to allow any consumer to certificate his own QoS broadband connection. Each consumer can compare results obtained by means of Ne.Me.Sys with statistical values derived from the permanent quality of service monitoring infrastructure.
